The Cover Story - the facts

Dear all,

I am aware of the messages circulating on this forum with regards to The
Cover Story and it is my turn to respond.

The Cover Story is not in liquidation. There is no smoke without fire, but
this fire was extinguished a year ago.

TCS were in receivership in 2006 but were bought out - details below. I was
aware of this at the time I started dealing with them and passed that
information on to anybody who enquired. They still work with employees and
business associates who have stuck by them through and since the buyout.

Here is the statement they issued after I called them yesterday as a result
of the concern raised on this forum:

Dear Miriam,

In response to your call today I would like to inform you of the following
facts. In 2001 our company set up a new entity - TCS Netherlands - to launch
and represent a large US photo database in the Netherlands. The launch met
with huge success and as a result the US company set up its own operation in
the Netherlands after a few years. This action unfortunately was the primary
cause for the closure of our company which was forced into receivership in
October 2006.

Our international company The Cover Story whose core business since 1997 has
been selling features worldwide was then purchased by Plaasaa BV. As a
result the international business carried on virtually unchanged since
November 2006 as you can see by looking at our website
<http://www.thecoverstory.com/> www.thecoverstory.com and represents the
work of freelance journalists, photographers and other corporate sources
worldwide.

I would be happy to speak to your contributors or associates to clarify any
questions they may have.

Best regards,

Kate Russell

I am disappointed that people are choosing to air their doubts in public
without coming to me first for clarification. I have also been a member of
both the GWA and GWG for several years and those of you who have dealt with
me know that I personally never duck a question.

As an independent agent and contributor myself I am in the same boat as the
rest of you with regards to wanting reassurance that my hard work will be
converted in to cash in my bank.

I would like to make it clear that The Cover Story is an entirely separate
entity from my own business, Planting Stories Public Relations. My role in
this operation is to inform about the possibilities, field questions and
guide contributors through the process of submitting suitable materials. I
am trying to work in everybody's best interests and I hope that will be
appreciated.

This is a wonderful opportunity to earn money from sources we would not
otherwise have access to and expose our knowledge to wider audiences. If for
any reason it doesn't work out, then we would loose nothing but our own
time, and no doubt some pride.
