I just googled: American "lavender growers" association - to find out if there was one, and came up with references to a North American Lavender Conference:
http://www.lavenderfestival.com/special-events/seminar.html held as part of the Sequim Lavender Festival in Washington State. If you haven't contacted them, this might be a place to start.
