Too little for here in the northeast. I quit doing this work around 1998
at which time I was getting $65/hour for a combination of writing and
editing. Others were charging #100/hour. At that time I also worked for a
college at $35/hour, but that was a multi-year gig that included a
quarterly newspaper. I never quoted a per-hour price, but always a
project price based on my estimate of how long any given job would take
(a task I became very good at). Then I played "Beat the Clock" to see
whether I could increase my profit margin.
