Maybe that is because suppliers will rarely hand out stuff that is just 
awful. Mediocre, maybe.

My policy is, if I want something for my garden, I go out and buy it retail, 
I don't cage it. If someone wants me to try something I will with this 
caveat: If it is outstanding I'll write about it, f it is terrible I'll 
write about it, but if it is just middlin', I probably won't say a word.
