You could make a wide ring for compost out of chicken wire or hardware cloth 
and  put it on top of a box lid or some kind of liner with a lip so you can 
clean up easily after the show.

 Explain that it in a yard it would be set directly on the ground in an 
out-of -the-way place.  Make compost inside it.
