Re: Need help
Dear Jeff and All,
This sounds more like the Yellow Stuffer Tomato.
The flavour is just Ok but the inside of this Tomato is almost hollow.Bruce

Subject: [GWL] Need help
I am sure lots of you have had similar experiences, but this
one has me stumped: A reader called and asked if it was possible to
cross a pepper and a tomato. I said I didn't think so.
Today he came
to my office with a tomato plant. On it were yellow peppers.......well,
when I cut into one, it had the three hollow "sections" and tasted like a
cross between a tomato and a pepper. Very unusual. Each "Peppertom" had the
characteristic shape of a pepper.
The seeds came from one fruit he
found last year on a plant grown in a greenhouse full of peppers and
tomatoes. The plants produced red tomatoes, this one was yellow. They all
germinated this year and he has lots of plants with the same strange
fruit.
Is this possible? A cross between a tomato and a bell
pepper? I have a few pictures and will send them off line to those
who might be interested.
Any idea what is going on
here?
Cheers,
Jeff
