Re: academic search engines: Charlemagne
Katy,
Another reply from a member of the Council on Botanical and Horticultural
Libraries (CBHL) to your query on Charlemagne. Hope it helps.
Sally
Good morning,
I very much doubt that there is one academic research engine to be used.
However, for this specific question, I reached some information. A Google
search on (Charlemagne +"required plants") led to a link that no longer
works. The summary for that link mentions Capitulare de villis so I
replaced required plants with the document name and that leads to addresses
about that combination. I did not pursue the search any further but the
researcher certainly can. One source said that capitulare means little laws.
Charlemagne is supposed to have given the same or similar list to the St.
Gall monastery. And then there are books.
