Dear Sally, As I'm sure you know, there are more
herb people interested in old gardens then most. The NE Unit of HSA has a
translation (in French) of Le Petit Jardin of Walahfrid Strabus, the Monastere
de Reichenau by Dr. Henri Leclerc in Paris 1933 and a Phd thesis, Univ of Penn,
by Harrison Boyd Ash 1930, in latin, of De Cultu Hortorum of Lucius Junius
Moderatus Columellla who lived at the beginning of the CE and gardened in Spain
and Italy. Most of the references in the Bibiolography and also in
latin. Do you think this would be of any interest to the people looking
for gardens? - Lucille
Joining CBHL has been one of the
most interesting connections I have ever made.
