New Clematis cultivars

Dear List Participants:
The brief descriptions below are this years releases from " The Barry Fretwell Collection" of Clematis. I can provide the photo's if you would like and if your system can receive some relatively large digital photo files.

Clematis viticella ' Peveril Pristine: ' A white C. Mme. Julia Correvon,a useful late white bloomer.
Clematis x jackmanii 'Consort': The coloring of the unfurling flowers will emphasize the edging on those that are fully open.
Clematis heracleifolia 'Ember' : A herbaceous species. Long flowering and in addition to the rich red coloring the seedheads are also a feature.I am not aware of another Red herbaceous cultivar in the current offerings with-in the trade.
Clematis ' Radiance'  A new breakthrough. A multi hybrid type. Multi hybrids do not generally pick up the traits of multiple parents.
Clematis texensis ' Rapture': A sister to the cultivar C. texensis ' Princess of Wales'. It is stunning, flowers on a plant of this cultivar will capture the eye of any Clematis producer.
Clematis ' Halcyon': A Winter flowering species. it would be an ideal competitor for the Clematis cultivar ' Freckles' .
Clematis integrifolia ' Amelia ': A sister of the famous cultivar C. 'Arabella'. The same growth habits as C. ' Arabella ' but a softer colored very attractive flower.
Clematis integrifolia ' Miranda ' : Also a sister of the cultivar C. 'Arabella'. This is not a soft colored cultivar,it is dramatic. It is very dark purple, with almost a black center stamen structure.

I hope that these brief descriptions will provide some useful guidance. When and if you need further information, I'll go back to the breeder, Mr. Barry Fretwell for some more detailed information of the cultivars.

Thank-You.
Sincere Regards
Rick Sorenson
