Watch Your Replies

Friends:
	It has been a long time since I've said anything about list etiquette, 
but I'm seeing some sloppy postings that tell me it's time to do a 
little reminder.  To keep it easy, I'll just do ONE thing today:
	Please be sure to whom you are sending personal replies, comments, 
etc.   Too many things have been cropping up on the list lately that 
should have been sent ONLY to one person.   When someone says "I'll 
meet you at ..."  and the other says "Okay," on list, they have just 
added absolutely nothing to any other member of the list, and the chaff 
takes up the archives besides.
	So be SURE where your reply is going and if it is appropriate to the 
entire list, or just to one person.

	And if you HAVE done this, and suddenly find that your letters seem to 
take a long time to reach the list, it's because violators are now put 
on moderation for an unspecified length of time.  That means your posts 
have to be cleared before they'll be sent on to the list.

	Some lists are totally moderated.  The GWL has been essentially 
unmoderated, and it will stay that way IF the members are thoughtful 
enough to be sure their posts are sent to the right place - personal 
comments just to the person intended, letters for ALL the members to 
the list.

	Thanks for your help in keeping the list clear and free of chaff.
