Re: Listserve abuse by Lon Rombough
To this honored list:
I share Jeff's thoughts about the wonderful symposium just ended in
Vancouver. It was a great fusion of friends, new members, ideas, products,
gardens, and food--the lunches were the best ever.
I remain quiet on this list for a variety of reasons: most notably for
fear of being shallow, off-topic, ill-informed, or industry-sided. I want
to write rhapsodically about next year's symposium in the Brandywine Valley.
Having served on the local arrangements committee for most of the last year,
I can say it is an event that has no equal in my experience of GWA national
meetings. You certainly will not want to miss it. You can contact me off
list about the wonderful opportunities to tour, network, and experience.
There will be considerable news about it in the upcoming Q&T newsletters.
On Jeff's other note, I would add my thoughts about several of those GWL
members (and my close personal friends) who have left the list because of
the edicts laid down in past correspondance. We have lost many good writers
and respected industry leaders for want of constructive dialogue. I would
hope that we could work out some more favorable and positive method of
self-censure at best or imposed mediation at worst.
In a constructive mode (for once...)
Kirk
