I can sympathize with Sherry, and as a member of several organizations 
there are only so many conferences that can be attended. Timing, money 
and scheduling all have to be taken into account and played against 
educational/professional content of the event.

  For the GWA meetings though, there are taped copies of the sessions 
which will be available, so you will have the opportunity to gain that 
side of the equation without attending. Seeing new products at the 
vendors show is something that cannot be done from afar. The vendor 
list though was given (I think) along with the conference invitation 
and I am sure you can contact them for information.

  However, the most important side of any conference, and this one in 
particular, is the personal interaction with others. From glimpses of 
trends in books or magazines from the editors, to helpful hints in the 
field from photographers is something that cannot be beaten.

  And for those that were there, I am sure will appreciate that I am 
sitting on the deck with my new nifty little MacBook, courtesy the 
generosity of our vendor Goldsmith Seeds.
