Website development resource
Folks - I have been asked several times to give talks on website marketing
and development to gwa members and others. I generally refuse as I really
don't have the time or energy to share the kinds of things I'm doing on the
net. As a full time Internet writer with a decreasing number of dead-tree
publishing work (who's got the time?), I really owe much of my success to
buying and following the advice in an ebook called "Make Your Site Sell".
This ebook describes the essentials of what you need to do to succeed on the
Internet with a website.
The original of this book came out in the late 1990's or early 2000's and it
was revised again in 2002. (I have both) Those very important essentials
haven't changed all that much although they have been revised and the
concept is now simplified somewhat. I gladly paid for both copies of this
book and pretty much built my business on it.
It turns out that the ebook is now free.
So while it is indeed a little dated, it is still an important document that
describes how to make your website a useful one (and make a little money at
the same time) You may not turn yourself into a full time garden writer
like I did - you may not want to. But if you do - here's a good starting
point.

P.S. If you decide not to download this ebook - that's fine too. I don't
need the competition on the Net. :-)
