match print printers
I need advice from all of you photographers... I took the photos for my last book, A Garden Lover's Cape Cod, and sent off about 20 slides and the rest digital files. The slides were printed beautifully because they had something to match, but some of the digital photos were way too dark. Foxgloves at midnight. (Perhaps a good title for a mystery, but a killer in a garden book.) I'm now working on A Garden Lover's Martha's Vineyard and I want to be sure that the same thing does not occur - my thought is to supply the printer (in China) with match prints that I print out. I originally thought that I'd go to a color lab in Boston and have the files printed to my liking, but someone pointed out that for the same money I could propably buy a printer and do it myself. Any thoughts on a printer that can give really good quality and color?
with thanks,
C.L.
