Sea Kayaking Portland

Hi, All,

Anyone care to join me in a flatwater kayak trip on the Willamette
River?

I would love some company and I'm willing to coordinate a group trip
Friday, 9/19 at 10:00am. It should be great fun and very easy for
first-time kayakers. I am experienced in both sea and whitewater
kayaking and rescue! (unlikely you'll need it ;-) BUT the ability to
swim is a must. We'll launch from Alder Creek Kayak rentals an easy
30 minute walk from the hotel.

The following is a trip description from the Portland Kayak company
website:

First-time kayakers and experienced paddlers alike will enjoy a
unique perspective of Portland on this guided tour circumnavigating
Ross Island on the Willamette River. We'll paddle past an impressive
blue heron rookery and possibly see bald eagles and osprey as we
glide by Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge. There is an unparalleled view
of Portland's skyline on our way back to the dock.

You should wear clothes that are quick drying like poly pro--not
cotton. A windbreaker and water resistant shoes would be suggested
as well. We can share a taxi back to the hotel and be back in time to
freshen up before the trade show opens at 3:30. Cost is $35.00 but if
we have a group of five or more $25.00. Limit 10

Contact me off list if you want to be in on the fun!

Phyllis
