Re: Portland

Daryl, according to what's online at _www.gardenwriters.org_
(http://www.gardenwriters.org) and at the Doubletree's own site:

Located only 9 miles from the Portland International Airport, the MAX light
rail system will pick you up at baggage claim and drop you off directly
across the street from the front door.

The hotel's web site also says:

High-Speed Internet Access in Guestrooms/Complimentary Wi-Fi in Public Space

....which makes it sound as though there will be a fee for protected online
service in rooms, free open access down by the pool or in the lounge.

I've looked in a couple of places, but may have overlooked the answer -
what's the best way to get from the airport to the Doubletree? Cab? Hotel
transport?

I may arrive nearly brain-dead from dealing with a bottle-fed kitten, a 17
year old dog, and a 94 year old Dad, so whatever is the most simple wins.
Oh, and do I read it correctly that there's free Wi-Fi? I'm teaching until
after noon on Thursday, and grades have to be in by Tuesday. I think I can
get all of their landscape designs graded by Thursday night or early Friday,
but uploading the info is going to be a bear if I can't do it from my
laptop.

Thanks.

Daryl
