When looking at hotel room rates for a conference, you have to remember  
that every part of that conference that occurs in that hotel is a piece of the 
 whole package. Meeting rooms, ballrooms, snacks at breaks, rooms for 
out-of-town  Association types who come ahead of time to plan the conference, 
yada yada.  Room rates are just another piece, but the most lucrative (for the  
hotel) piece. I have no doubt the GWA heads negotiated the best deal they  
could get for the membership.

Where did you find a standard rate for $129, Daryl? I've checked  the web 
site several times, just out of curiosity, and the best rate I've seen  for 
this hotel (apart from the GWA rate) was $159. Mostly it has told me $179.  
Free Internet would certainly be appealing,  though...
