Re: More Poisons in Our Food
"...Another ingredient of Agent Orange is dihydrogen monoxide.

BTW, I found the blog by going to the NRDC website and putting "Pullen" in

Hi, Duane!
Thanks for all of that. 2,4 D is in many of the common weedkiller's on the market right now. It was in Agent Orange along with 2 4 5 T and it was a byproduct of producing that chemical which created a dioxin which caused all the problems. Not new news for me but more than I think most people on this first pass could wrap their heads around.
The success of this petition will put the brakes on this new formulation which will then provide the opportunity to give the issue the full airing it deserves. Up to now, Dow has been moving silently likes sharks in the water. Rather than throw our hands up in the air and resign ourselves to more powerful/stronger chemicals, I'd like to see if the promise of the current approach has been fulfilled. Specifically, have we in fact been able to improve our crop production/yields, etc. by virtue of using Roundup-Ready crops and exactly what does the data say before we jump on the bandwagon to strengthen the product since the weeds have essentially outsmarted us.
I'm hopeful that the 100,000 signatures will be accumulated so that the democratic process can be exercised as it relates to this issue and we can engage in an informative public debate.
And thanks for the tip about how to get around the link not working by using the blog writer's name (Pullen).
