Developed by Mr.Barry Fretwell, Devon,
England. Named for his wife Patricia. This cultivar is considered to be the
first double-flowered,red and white Clematis. Flambouyant double flowers on the
old wood and single flowers in its secondary flowering. The cultivar retains a
mature height of 6ft.to 8ft. and flowers May,June and July. Single flowers
appear in the blooming period of September. Zones 4 to 9. Mr. Fretwell is a well
known author and long time breeder of Clematis cultivars. He is best known for
his breeding work with the small flowering texensis hybrids,many of which are
popular in areas of extreme heat.
