Kate,
Don't forget to leave an inch out of the ground with "pointed"
ends(where the wire has been cut) to prevent them from climbing over. A
friend of mine didn't do this and the little monsters climbed over. This
doesn't happen often because they like dark but if the infestation is high,
it could be a possibility. Good luck.
