RE: ventricosa

Bill with the new upgrade of equipment, I have been without a scanner.  have waited over a month to get the correct software from HP.  It just came today.  As soon as I can figure how to use it I will try to send you some pictures.

Hi Mary and all,
This comment from Mary Chastain last week took a while to penetrate.

Ventricosa has always been considered near impossible to use as a pod parent for crosses. This is because it is said to be apomixic, which means it is not pollenated in the ordinary way. I don't know if scientific research has established this or if it is just a legend which has become established. From things I've seen, I am beginning to question it. Has anyone else been trying to make crosses onto ventricosa?
Mary, do you have any, or could you take some pictures of these seedlings?
