Yes, Gerry, it is a small bag esp. for $10. Not sure how many oz., but I
did buy it 2 years ago--maybe in the chi chi stage of mass-gardener
awareness?? I'd never heard of it before.
Note I said NOT to put it in the TOP third of the pot (not: only in the
bottom third). I ignored this myself, and as someone else warned, the soil
boiled over with these big gel globs, like some scifi movie!

I buy "Water Saver" from Home Depot in a 2 pound container..I'm sure I
didn't pay a fortune for it.
First thing that occurs to me is that mixing the rehydrated granules into
the bottom 1/3 of the pot would encourage deep rooting, which putting it in
the up part of the soil would not.
