please please be careful of this kind of "info". hostas are very sensitive
to watering in the winter. i lost many that were in the "rain shadow" of my
roof over one winter. several folks who moved their collections during winter
lost many because of winter dryness. this may not be a big problem in snow
areas, but other places, especially those that experience january droughts may
have devastating effects.
water in winter if you are not getting regular rains(especially potted and
miniature)
