Re: 134 hostas listed in the library auction

Actually our lancifolias (long wide row of them) are reaching their peak
bloom now, and are quite beautiful. The most beautiful of all, however,
and actually the prettiest overall display I recall seeing for hosta
blooms, is a mass (maybe 15-20 plants) of 'Ginko Craig' in full bloom.
Such intensity of color against really serene looking plants in front of
a large granite boulder. The planting site wasn't all that intentional,
but the only place, at the time, that wasn't already planted with
hostas. Also, it would be very difficult here to plant anything that
didn't have a large granite boulder in the background. Stopped some
people dead in their tracks, who were through here today. Things are
spectacular, in general, this summer. It has rained every day for the
last 10 days. Some days an inch or more, most days 0.5 inches or less;
perfect hosta growing conditions.
