Good morning Glen,
In my humble opinion each mature eye will have one flower scape. So
in counting crowns this would only work if you wanted to count mature
crowns. And you would probably have a couple smaller eyes or crowns coming
along also. This is what I see in my gardens anyway. Take care, Rod K
