Silverbook On-line?

How about a site has been described before as the Silverbook On-line :
http://giboshi.com
Tom Hammelman has done a great job. Hostas can be searched by name,
size, originator, year introduced. IAC denotes hostas on that list. A vendor
list is even included. Noticeably missing is a preferred or unpreferred
designation.

What do you prefer a stagnant book in print that is years old or a document
that is up-to-date and can be printable on demand?

Why does the AHS need to profit from the Silverbook?
The Hosta Yearbook 1999 page 6 states " The American Hosta Society is an
international not-for-profit organization founded in 1968 to foster and
promote interest in the genus Hosta..."

It seems that the AHS is having problems selling the out-of-date copies of
the Silverbook. I not sure what the best solution to the problem of having
"current" Silverbooks available to all. Maybe a modular system where
periodic updates are sent to members (or sold if a profit is sought). Maybe
on-line for some. Some may choose to print out on their personal printers
and provide to those off-line folks (with a fee to cover printing
costs--normally only a few cents per page). Just remember one method of
providing the info does not preclude another being done.
