Is there a specific reason you want to force them, hybridizing purposes,
flower show etc? Our local society has a number of
potted hostas that we've taken to the greenhouses at the botanical
gardens so we would have some for display at early spring shows. As far as
I know they haven't suffered from being forced. I would guess
that as long as they went thru an adequate dormant phase,
6-8 weeks(?) it should do them any harm, but I'm not claiming any
great experience with trying it either.
