I am sure acid rain causes egg shell thinning even in birds that
never eat other birds/mice. However the acid rain
has not stopped yet Still, the birds of prey have made a remarkable
comeback in Europe.So acid rain is not the only cause the second one
is DDT or derivatives.
Being at the end of the food chain the birds of prey were hardest hit by
DTT. Luckely they were saved just in time.
