When you mention hormones you seem to be referring mostly to tc's or
cuttings, but do any used in garden situations? Specifically the cytokinins
are said to promote lateral buds would this then have a
similar effect to bud isolating the plant? I'm always hesitant to approach
my hostas with a sharp instrument so an alternative would be interesting to
know about.
