Re: Zumbarizing

Zumberizing works somewhat differently that Rossizing.  "Rossizing"( Henery Ross's method) requires that you cut through the plant base and between the buds, pushing the knife completly through the base and out the other side.  You must then draw the blade downward and completly through the root area.  You may (on larger plants) make more than one cut through, sort of pie slices.  With "Zumberizing" (Bill Zumbar's method) You only make a 1/4 th inch cut between the buds and draw the knife straigt down through the root area.  Two more systems are used.  "Bud Cutting" ( Alex Summer's method)  You start as you would for the others, but actually cut around and in at an angle so you remove the bud and a piece of the root,  This is immediatly planted as a sepirate entity.  The last method is "Bud Isolation"  (My method)  You start the cuts between the buds, but draw the knife , again at about 1/4 inch depth from a point at the tip of the bud and scribe an arch over and down beside the bud.  Here again you complete the cut down through the root area.  Each of these methods can accomplish somewhat different results.  In each , however is it very important to use a fungiside on the knife before cutting and during the work

Subject: Zumbarizing

Is there anyone who would like to offer a definition of Zumbarizing, as opposed to Rossizing?

Thanks
Bob
