Don't forget to try to read "The Salmon of Doubt" - a posthumously published collection of some of Douglas Adams' articles, personal notes, and the start of a new book he was unable to finish. It is quite a great little bit of his work, and a great insight into his life.

I loved those books and was stricken when Adams just dropped dead at such a
young age.  I have all the Hitchhiker books but not the detective ones.
