Andrew, I have sen Gold Regal and offspring, very finicky over the 30 years 
watching them, for setting seed. No rhyme  or reason, although age has been 
somewhat of a factor, withn older clumps throwing more pods.

Seed maturity has also been a fatcor - when the pods set, even full, many 
unfertile seeds exist.



I still see may sports off the old clumps of Gold regal - fun!
