Many years ago, Hosta m 'Chirifu' was hailed in The Hosta Journal as a
major find and it was predicted that this plant would be used heavily in
hybridizing. I have just looked at http://hostaregistrar.org/index.asp
(BTW, a wonderful site!!) and find that there are only two plants
registered with m. 'Chirifu' as the pod parent. (Also two as pollen
parent).
I have searched the HostaLibrary and did a search on Google, but alas,
cannot find photographs of either H. 'Metropolis' nor H. 'Evening Gown',
the two cultivars with Chirifu as the pod parent.
Might someone out there have a photo of either of these plants that you
could share, either privately or on the Robins/Open?

As an after thought, I wonder if the registrar site will ever have photos
of each registered plant included in the database - or perhaps
HostaLibrary? Afterall, to register a plant, you must submit a photo of
the plant at the time of registration. (The reqirements for registration
include " - One photographic print or slide of the clump, with leaf
detail discernable."
I, for one, would be willing to scan in photos/slides in preparation for
such a project.
