While at Hampton Court recently, a lady came over and told me what she does to
protect her newly planted hostas.
Take a plastic 2 ltr Coke bottle, cut it into cylinders, then use scissors to
cut a serrated , kind of zig zag, jagged edge on one end and wrap it around
the base of the plant. Worth a try.
