Preston,
I have been adding alfalfa meal to my potting mix, about a handfull
per 1/2 cubic foot of soil. I haven't done a controlled study to know
the difference, but it definitely hasn't hurt. I get 50 lbs of alfalfa meal
at the farm store for about $7.50. It is cheap. If nothing else, it
provides a bit more organic matter to the soil which can't hurt.

I have had a great increase in growth since I have started using
Organic Alfalfa (a dietary supplement. I have not run a scientific study
so I can't be sure how much the alfalfa has helped. I soak two 500mg
tablets to allow them to dissolve before adding Peter's fertilizer. Then
I just water away!!

Jackson, Michigan. Many benefits are listed including doubling of weights of
