I have a picture somewhere of this very thing that I took at Dubuque a few
years back. I have also had it happen in my garden once on Neat Splash a
year or so ago. It has not repeated and the seedlings grown from that bloom
scape showed no unusual traits.
I use the term fasciated as in the annual, cockscomb.
