trying hosta from seeds

I would like to try to grow some hosta from seeds. (Thanks to Dave who sent
the great information that Bill had written,thanks Bill) Should collect some
from
my own plants(hit or miss, no crosses, not that "advanced" yet) or should I
seek seeds from the advanced that have controlled crosses?  Any information
or
"advanced" growers with seed can contact me. Thanks  Judy  jmccann@tez.net
