WE SURVIVED THE 1998 CONVENTION !!!!
This was our first time to a National and we loved almost every minute. It
was a bit warm, yes, but we were fortunate to have good air conditioning.
As for the gardens they were indeed great. A few to many for hot weather
but had it been 10 - 15 degrees cooler it wouldn't have even bothered us. We
could always add another day to the convention!! I for one would love that as
I got so little time other than meal times to really sit and chat with people.
Thanks to all in Peoria who did a great job and made things go quite
smoothly. Kay Dye did a great job with the cut leaf show. I know many have
asked why have one, but all you have to do is enter a few leaves or clerk or
judge and you will know why.
I too wish we didn't have to vote on the best in the gardens by looking for
flags simply because we don't get enough time to enjoy the whole garden in
perspective.
There were some great specimens at all of the gardens. We took 3 rolls of
pictures and I hope someone can scan some of you.
Well enough for now - Just was glad to see so many of you that are on the
robin there and talk in person.

Where it finally cooled down today!!! Went from 90 to 63 after a storm rolled
through!!!
