You are right, a green plant will not change to plain yellow
But please read again I carefully said INDIRECTLY. That means via
a plant with a yellow edge or yellow centre
<< If a leaf changes from green to yellow it can be caused
<<indirectly by a nuclear mutation (as is usually the case in
hostas) .
