And you feel your rants against Ben are?  Interesting.  All I'm saying is why don't you fellas work this out in court and leave us out of it?  Seems like a reasonable approach to me.

I want to examine Hosta genetics without all of the political banter.  So, I've created a domain name for this, and will soon add some web pages and a discussion forum where serious students of this issue can come and share information.   A friend of mine teachers genetics at Rutger's and I hope to have he and others from ISU become involved in some discussions.  It's just me trying to be helpful but apparently I'm mucking it up as I go along if I've managed to offend you.  I know you are a serious student of Hosta genetics, both at the microbiological level and the hands-on knowledge level.   The only reason I invoked the power of "the Carolyn Schaffner approach" was because I want to discuss Hosta genetics, not unrelated topics.  This was to discourage hecklers.

This undertaking may not appeal to you anyhow because I hope to be attracting those who are interested from the molecular biological point of view of studying Hosta genetics.   We're going to be talking about some rather indepth stuff because I don't know that we can go a lot further in our understanding of these phenomena without a closer examination of what is really driving their occurance--from the inside out.

I regret if you felt isolated or defensive.  I worked on that "manuscript" (as Marvin Lemke likes to call them) for six hours trying to eliminate all possibly offensive language.  I just wanted to discourage people from requesting a login name if all they want to do is post trivia or fight.  I don't have time to explain why understanding transposable elements is more important to me than jokes, politics, or fights.  There are separate posting areas for this type of thing.

Maybe I need to lighten up and get a life but my mother-in-law is moving in today.  I've got a lot on my mind... :-)  Tee Hee Hee....
