Actually, I'm in total agreement with your hubby - it is ridiculous,
since the language of commerce pretty much worldwide is English, thanks
to the Brit empire days. It is even more ridiculous that everything has
to appear in both languages, on for instance, food package labels,
government documents etc., as it costs everyone across Canada.
I was born btw in Montreal, Que. We moved to Ontario during the 70's
when we had to live through kidnappings and mailbox bombs thanks to the
radical element in French Canada. Most of my family however, with roots
that ran deep, remained to tough it out. I was more concerned about
being forced to raise my children in that environment.
