Re: H. Elegans / stunted look


Had the same problem last year with a few hostas planted years ago (Big
Daddy, Bressingham Blue, Sun Power, Aurora Borealis and Sagae amongst
others).  Dug up Big Daddy and a good chunk of the plant had rot.  Cut it
up, cleaned it up and replanted.  Back this year, alive but small.  Lifted a
few others last year to adjust the depth of planting.  They look real good
this year. Just did the same thing to a huge Sagae and SunPower, since both
were showing the same signs again.  In my case, I think the plants have sunk
deeper, or more soil shifted on them and are suffering.  All I know is that
lifting them has helped .
