Robin Friends,
The W32.BadTrans.13312@mm virus has now infected at least six personal
computers here in the robin. It has been received by several other
members
whose antivirus software programs sounded the alert and disabled the
virus.
To avoid its entry into your computer, please question every attachment
to
every message you receive. If you open an attachment containing the
virus,
your computer will likely be infected. It's that simple. If an
attachment
looks suspicious, delete it at once.
Symantec Antivirus Research Center says this about the virus, "It is a
MAPI
worm that replies to all unread mails in your email message folders, and
drops a backdoor Trojan."
The worm will attach itself to the email, using one of the following
file
names:
Pics.ZIP.scr
images.pif
README.TXT.pif
New_Napster_Site.DOC.scr
news_doc.scr
hamster.ZIP.scr
YOU_are_FAT!.TXT.pif
