Cutworms

Joyce, I'm wondering if my H. 'Cinnamon Sticks' that was leveled in the last couple of days may have actually been attacked by cutworms instead of rabbits.  The first day, I found three leaves simply cut and lying on the ground and I suspected rabbits as the culprit. The next day, whatever was doing the damage nailed the final two leaves that remained.  I'm "going to" put down some bloodmeal to attempt to scare off the rabbits, but how does one find this elusive cut worm?  Is there any tell-tale evidence, other than the leaf that is left behind as a sign of their dastardly deed?
