from green to blue

Hi Charles
Here some info on your question A plain green wild plant will rarely
sport to blue, Why? because if it does it will be a sport due to a
mutation ie a change in DNA A sport due to a muation is as I
argued earlier a very rare occasion. I dont think there are any
examples ( or is tokudama originally?). A better chance is when
you have a ( nearly) green plant for a blue x green cross In that
case you can get a blue sport due to a mitotic recombination a
more frequent occurence. The cases reported seem to be the
following. Halcyon is a green x blue cross. A mit rec in its outer
layer only , resulted in a green sport. However the second layer is
still blue so tc or a sport due to chimeric rearangment can bring out
the blue again in these ""green"" sports like Devon Green!
