Re: Compost Tea

I have made tea from composted cow manure, and it's really easy to do. I just put a scoop of the compost into a piece of burlap, tie it up and plop it in a 5-gallon bucket of water. I let it sit for a day or two, then pull out the 'teabag' and put the tea in my hose end sprayer. If it were just leaf compost, maybe you could put it on full strength, but the composted manure seems to make a pretty strong solution. I have used it in combination with epsom salts and a little miracle grow on some of the plants in areas where my soil isn't quite as good. It seems to make quite a difference. So, you might try making your own!

I have been hearing a lot about "Compost Tea" lately. Is anyone familiar with
it, are you using it? Are you seeing a difference in your plants? I'm hearing
a lot of hype and I wondering how much of it is true, or is it a gimmick? A
local nursery wants $5.00/gallon (if you bring your own container). I would
like to hear about real experiences with it and not just from some person/website
that is selling it.
