Many mistake cutworm damage from slug damage. The tell-tale sign of cutworms
is a rather "clean" oblong hole in the leaf. If the edges are 'chewed' then
you probably have the black vine weevil.(Specific is to plant a lot of
impatienses near plant. They like the impatienses better than hostas.)
Actually, since cutworms are herbivores, one could fry them and eat them.
Don't laugh--what do you think you are eating when you order escargot de la
Maison at a fancy French restaurant.
