Re: On Stage/CHO KO NISHIKI

I have heard Alex Summers say these two are the same hosta. When 'Choko
Nishiki was brought from Japan to the U.S. is was named 'On Stage'.

Some problems may arise when a tissue culture lab is sure that two
hostas are the same. They may tissue culture only one of the two and
then sell them under both names.

For sure this has happened in the past and is probably happening now
also.

Subject: On Stage/CHO KO NISHIKI

Hello everyone
This may not come as a surprise to most but I have On Stage and Cho Ko
Nishiki planted about 5 feet apart and they are the last to come up in
one bed I have. Both emerged just recently on the same day. I was told
by some they were different but I doubt it.
