As an experiment, this spring I divided up a Golden Tiara into small divisions (2-3 eyes each, mostly) and soaked the whole kit n kaboodle in Zerotol for incremental periods, from 5 mins. up to 25 mins.
None of the plants showed any signs of stress at all, and continued to grow happily, until such time as I moved and left them behind, weeks later.
As to the effect on nematodes, no clue, as these were not infected plants.

1) Kill the hosta
2) Kill the nematodes.
