A wholesale nursery that puts a 85 cent Stella De Oro daylily into a
gallon pot will wholesale that plant to a landscape contractor for
about $3.75 to $4. Add $1.80 to that wholesale bareroot price and the
contractor will end up paying $6.95 to $9.95. >>
Black eyed Stella In my opinion has to be one of those over hyped plants and
not worth the money spent on it.
$1.80 propagation few for that daylily is pure greed, and a bad choice for a
vehicle for that greed.
Over the years I have offered many diffrent perennials that have been
patented and their cost from the wholesalers are just a few cent's to $0.50
more than other cultivars.
The market for patented plants is more in bedding plants and agricultural
crops.
